Laura & James Vintage Winter Wedding Sneak Peek

January 25, 2013  •  1 Comment

We had never had more fun shooting in the rain then when we did with Laura & James in their romantic engagement session. After seeing their chemistry, we knew their winter wedding would be full of warmth and love. Their florist, Designs by Design did a fabulous job of blending flowers like thistle (to honor her husband's Scottish heritage), English garden roses, peonies, narcissus and anemone in a neo-classical style. The ceremony was in the breathtaking chapel at Brophy College Preparatory, complete with poinsettias and evergreen trees covered in white lights.

The bride was absolutely stunning, dressed in a timeless gown with tulle draped shoulders and an extravagantly embroidered bodice and tulle overlay. Her cathedral length veil was an absolute show-stopper! Laura's classic curled up-do (her hair stylist was Angela Fry) and vintage earrings completed the look. Oh, and her groom didn't look too shabby in a traditional morning coat ;) Bridesmaids wore marine blue taffeta sweetheart neckline dresses and stayed warm with amazing vintage mink stole - gifts from the bride, who personalized each attendants' mink on the inside!

Guests traveled to The Venue at Old Main for their reception and were instantly greeted by some of the unique details of the wedding. Old fashioned post cards from all over the world sat next to a antique letter box for guests to write messages to the newlyweds. This was a hit and such a cute idea! Their beautiful monogrammed crest from their invitations were seen again on their lovely treat boxes and the programs that the bride painstakingly created herself. Centerpieces featured silver goblets overflowing with white flowers including roses, hydrangeas, and pops of green pears! Their vintage-inspired cake was all white, three-tiers of vanilla with lemon raspberry, red velvet with cream cheese and kahlua-infused chocolate with Bavarian Cream (YUM!) complete with a classic wedding bell and vintage silk lily of the valley cake topper. Piece of Cake Custom Cake Studios designed this simple, yet elegant cake. Their caterer, Atlasta Catering outdid themselves again, providing a delicious menu and amazing appetizers.

We could continue forever with the details, but we'll let the pictures do the rest of the work for us :) Check back for more pictures to come soon, but click here for more of their sneak peek! Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Liffiton!
